- Home to the Jarawas,Onges,Andamanese,Sentinelese tribe , who live in voluntary isolation on Andaman group of Islands and belongs to Negrito group and Nicobarese and Shompens tribes, who live on Nicobar groups of Island and belongs to Mongoloid group.

- Cellular Jail in Port Blair serves as a national memorial, a stark reminder of its past as a colonial prison.

- It is the first to get independence on 30 Dec 1943 when Netaji unfurls the National Flag and declared Andaman's freedom.
